**THREE CONCERNS STICK OUT THESE DAYS AS MOST IMPORTANT OF THE MANY IN OUR LIVES: Our original focus – Pesticides, is still a sickening reality and It is joined by the widely growing EMF explosion. Then, the current pandemic threatens our health and lives – not only from the sickening virus itself, but through the risky ways of response to it.
**ALL THESE SHARE A SIGNIFICANT OTHER CONCERN: Dealing with the political aspects of all three – how can we best protect ourselves from harm, while maintaining the wonderful freedom on which our country has been based – and the right to choose how to stay healthy? We are experiencing a wave of mandates – and censorship - not seen in the U.S. for many years.
**TIP’s RESPONSE: In this issue, as always, I have gathered some news about positive responses and options for dealing with the problems we face. In particular, I share some reports of legal actions for good and information that may help us to keep healthy through our own choices. There are no “magic bullets” to solve these concerns, but at least some of this offers hope in the quest.

By Dino Grandoni, August 18, 2021: Farmers use chlorpyrifos, linked to neurological damage in young children, on crops such as grapes, broccoli and strawberries The Environmental Protection Agency will ban the use of a pesticide widely applied on food crops but linked to neurological damage in children, reversing one of the Trump administration’s most fraught public health decisions. The final rule released Wednesday will put a stop to the spraying of chlorpyrifos on fruits and vegetables across the country, to protect the health of both farmworkers dispersing the pesticide and children eating produce treated with it.

America’s Largest Health Care Union Vows To Fight Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccines

Earlier this month, NewYork-Presbyterian became the first hospital system in the state to require employees to get vaccinated against COVID-19. It’s a step that a growing number of hospitals across the country are taking, but one that 1199SEIU, the largest health care union in the country, is prepared to fight. “Whether there is a legal challenge that we can make, or whether it's just a pure organizational challenge that we can make, we are not going to just give in,” George Gresham, president of 1199SEIU, told WNYC/Gothamist. The union is headquartered in New York City but represents health care workers throughout the state and in Massachusetts, New Jersey, Maryland, Florida and Washington, D.C. Gresham emphasized that he got vaccinated and has encouraged all union members to do so, but that he believes medical workers “have the right to make their decision about their own health.” Gresham said union delegates met with Dr. Steve Corwin, president and CEO of NewYork-Presbyterian, to express their concerns last week.
