** TWO WAYS TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE:  With so many concerns around us,
it can be intimidating to seek positive change.  However, we can focus on
using our best two types of power:  as consumers and as citizens.
Companies care about what you buy – and you can tell them what and why
you choose.  And, elected officials want your approval
– you can both educate and urge them to do good.
NEW: CALL FOR SHARING OF LESS TOXIC LIVING TIPS:  Each of us knows -
or may learn about – healthy alternatives to the many toxic everyday product
choices.  One of my most important actions is that of sharing such information
with you.  Moreover, though not a medical professional, I believe it is clear
that supporting our immune systems, and avoiding poisonous exposures,
is one effective way to fend off illness – including that from Covid.
So, I am inviting all of you to consider sending me any helpful ways/choices
for saying “No” to the bad & utilizing the good product choices.  Each month
I proposeto feature one or more such helpful options.  Example:   This can
be as simple as buying food in glass jars instead of cans laced with BPA or
plastic containers.
**NOTE RE: TIP SUPPORT:  Most of our usual website advertisers are dealing
with COVID and we have not asked them for payments until they feel they
can afford  that.  Meanwhile, any assistance from anyone who appreciates
our work is especially  welcomed!  See ways to help at the bottom of this
newsletter, including one at no cost to you.

Blessings, Liberty G

             KLINKMAN SOLAR DESIGN (KSD)
            **********************************************************
OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS – KSD OFFERS A FREE INNOVATIVE SOLAR
THERMAL SYSTEM TO A HEAVY HOT WATER OR HEAT USER
A Community or Commercial Recipient Is Sought To Move, Install & Use
the System.  The solar collector & heat storage rock box are both fully
built in back of the Hindu Temple in Warwick, however, unlike the previous
owner, Temple Am David, there is no longer an extensive use of hot water
on the property to serve a lunch program for Seniors. (Note: The property
was sold just before the system was connected.)

What’s Needed?  We seek to locate another site on which this completed
system may be installed – one with currently expensive hot water or heat
use, such as an assisted living/senior facility, soup kitchen, commercial
laundry, restaurant, etc. The recipient only needs to move & install the
system to enjoy its benefits.  Note: The system can be adapted for a variety
of locations, including possible roof mount for solar panels and/or basement
use fo the heat storage unit..To Discuss Possibilities, Contact Liberty or Paul

NEW HAMPSHIRE STATE REPORT ON HEALTH AND
ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECTS OF 5G AND WIRELESS RADIATION
Please Share With Your Legislators, Towns, Schools & Health Care Teams
the Final Report of the new Hampshire  Commission to Study the Environmental
and Health Effects of Evolving 5G Technology.  This is the first of its kind in the
U.S.to assess the independent science and public policy surrounding today's
wireless technology. It reveals great evidence of harm and failure of industry and
government agencies to protect the public.  The report contains 15 recommendations
to address inadequate federal protections, educate the public on risk management,
engage the medical community, install safe hard-wired technology, monitor and
map radiation exposures, and more.  The report is now with the NH Governor,
House Speaker and Senate President.

Please review the report details & share with the decision makers in your area
who to date may only have received misleading and harmful industry messaging.
Please forward to your federal legislators, state legislators,  town municipal boards,
school officials, health care providers, colleagues,  neighbors  friends and family.
Use the official report as a springboard to ask for similar legislation & immediate
protections in your community to act upon.

    REIMAGINING ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SCIENCE
WITH THE NEW UCSF EARTH CENTER
On Monday, September 14, the new UCSF Environmental Research
and Translation for Health (EaRTH) Center was launched, funded by
NIEHS, which will transform the approach to studying environmental
pollutants that undermine health and human development.
With a focus on accelerating the pace of discovery of harmful exposures
and preventive solutions, the EaRTH Center will offer globally recognized
expertise, cutting-edge science, state-of-the-art lab support,multi-disciplinary
collaborations, community outreach and engagement, and grant funding
to create new opportunities in environmental health research.

More than 55 scientists, clinicians, and trainees in 19 disciplines across
UCSF and beyond are already part of the new EaRTH Center working to:
**Advance understanding of how chemical and
environmental pollutants influence disease;
**Develop recommendations and interventions
to improve health across the lifespan; and,
**Support vulnerable populations – including pregnant women
and at-risk communities - who bear an unfair burden of pollutants
and disease  Learn more at:  https://earth.ucsf.edu/

TELL JOE BIDEN: REJECT HEIDI HEITKAMP
FOR THE NEXT SECRETARY OF AGRICULTURE
The transition from an industrial, polluting, wasteful agricultural system
to one that supports the health of our soil, our crops and our people
requires committed farmers—and committed leaders. If, like us, you
dream of an organic, regenerative food systemled by independent
family farmers, then reports that Joe Biden is considering former
North Dakota Senator Heidi Heitkamp as a potential Secretary of
Agriculture should be a real cause for concern.  Phew!  The election
finally is over!  Now, the real work begins.
We’ve got to stop Heidi Heitkamp!   Heitkamp is Biden’s first choice
for Agriculture Secretary, but she’s in the pocket of the worst food
and ag corporations.   We want organic and regenerative farmers
and ranchers leading the U.S. Department of Agriculture!  !

CONSUMERS WHO AVOID PRODUCTS WITH HARMFUL
CHEMICALS ON THE LABEL HAVE LOWER BODY BURDEN
September 30, 2020  Reading ingredient labels reduces exposures
to many endocrine disruptors—but not all  Finding healthier products
without harmful chemicals—shampoo free of parabens or fragrance-free
deodorant— is not always easy. It ofteninvolves scouring ingredients
on individual product labels in search of key words.   But is it worth it?
New research shows that paying close attention to what’s in the
products you buy canpay off.   In a study led by Silent Spring Institute,
researchers found that consumers who avoided products containing
specific endocrine disruptors had significantly lower levels of
the chemicals in their bodies.

Endocrine disruptors are chemicals that are widely-used in personal care
and household products. Scientists are concerned about the public’s
exposure because the chemicals can interfere with the body’s hormones
and lead to health problems such as reproductive disorders, thyroid disease,
asthma, and cancers.  “That’s why expert scientific panels and medical societies
recommend that people take steps to limit their exposures to these chemicals,”
says lead author,  Dr. Robin Dodson, an environmental exposure scientist at
Silent Spring. “And, with the current pandemic, we see how diseases associated
with environmental chemicals also make people more vulnerable to COVID-19
—yet another reason to reduce exposures in the population.”
