** EXPLANATION OF TIP POLICIES ON INFO & SOURCES.
We live in challenging times – in which “Science” is presented to us from
a variety of sources – often conflicting in their conclusions. I do not claim
to be an expert in science or medicine. However, logic & years of journalistic
research are my guides. My basic principle is that I consider likely bias or
independence as factors to consider when judging the potential value of
information that I find. I don’t push for my own answer to controversies –
just share the various considerations that lead me to see possibilities of
at least some truth. The Covid discussion is one such difficult situation
to address, one that is overwhelmingly covered by mainstream media
according to Big Pharma pronouncements. So, in this as in other such,
I feel it right to put forth alternative views and reports – not to endorse all
that is said, but to just provide opinions and information that appear to
have some potential validity and value. I leave it to my readers to
determine what they believe about the conflicting statements.

TELL THE CALIFORNIA SENATE TO PASS THE TOXIC-FREE COSMETICS ACT
Last month, the California Assembly passed the Toxic-Free Cosmetics Act by a
bipartisan vote of 54-0. The bill bans 12 of the most toxic chemicals used in
cosmetics sold in California, including mercury, formaldehyde, parabens, phthalates
and PFAS chemicals. The bill now needs to pass in the state Senate and then be
signed into law by Gov. Newsom. If that happens, it could have huge implications
for cosmetics safety, not just in California but in the rest of the U.S., too. Below are

MEXICO ANNOUNCES PHASE-OUT & BAN ON GLYPHOSATE HERBICIDES

The Secretariat of Environment & Natural Resources (SEMARNAT), Mexico’s
Environment Ministry, has announced that glyphosate-based herbicides will be
phased out of use in the country by 2024 to protect human health & environment.
Dr. Adelita San Vicente Tello, Director General of Primary Sector & Renewable
Natural Resources at SEMARNAT, announced the news after participating in the
conversation, "Why will Mexico join the ban on glyphosate?" organized by National
Autonomous University of Mexico’s (UNAM) Academic Observatory of Society,
Environment & Institutions. Damián Marino, National University of La Plata,
Argentina; Emmanuel González, Metropolitan Autonomous University, Xochimilco;
Fernando Bejarano, of Action Network on Pesticides and Alternatives in Mexico
(Rapam), & Leticia López of National Association of Rural Marketing Companies
(ANEC), all supported the strong decision that SEMARNAT has made on this issue.
The Ministry recently gave its full support to the policy introduced by the Committee
for the urgent attention of environmental issues for the benefit of the health and
well-being of the Mexican population. San Vicente Tello said that, together with the
National Council of Science and Technology, she is analyzing alternatives to the use
of glyphosate-herbicides for large-scale agricultural production, as there are many
weed management experiences with methods that farmers themselves and indigenous
communities have applied for thousands of years. In addition, government education
campaigns are being prepared with different medias, such as infographics and videos
that will be translated into several languages and will include data and independent
scientific sources on the effects of glyphosate-based herbicides on the environment
and health, with the purpose of alerting the population to the risks involved from their use.

Just over one week ago, Dominion Energy and Duke Energy announced the
cancellation of the Atlantic Coast pipeline (ACP), a natural gas pipeline largely
funded by those companies that would transport gas from production sites
in West Virginia to power plants in Virginia and North Carolina. The pipeline
has been held up for years due to lawsuits by environmental groups and
campaigns to stop the project from receiving government permits. The costs
associated with delays and lawsuits pushed the project’s price tag upward and
eventually led to the companies surrendering, citing “legal uncertainties.” …
Perhaps the largest consequence, and one which everyone should be grateful
for, is the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions that inevitably would have
resulted from burning the natural gas. Without this pipeline, gas will have
a harder time competing with cheaper, renewable options, which Dominion
and Duke should now focus their resources toward.

At the Institute, we don’t take a position on whether the COVID virus came directly
from animals, or from a laboratory. We understand that genetic engineering and other l
ab techniques can, theoretically produce such a pathogen. And we are very curious
about whether genetic engineering was involved. What we have discovered, however,
is that there appears to be a censorship campaign underway to suppress scientific
discussion and investigation of possible lab origins. So we’ve put some of the articles
